Best I Could Do With The Red.
Lens: Canon EF-S 55~250mm Lens Camera: Canon EOS Rebel t5. Photo Location: Sherwood Forest. ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F5.6

That looks pretty nice. I've also noticed issues with rich reds with Pentax.

Since this was shot with a Canon that likely doesn't even share a sensor manufacturer or processor I wonder if the raw processing of reds is trickier than we think.

Part of the difficulty is mapping the rich scale of reds into the rather constrained sRGB color space, which is usually used in JPEGs on the web. Working on a wide gamut monitor (roughly covering Adobe-RGB), I definitely have to check my JPEGs after sRGB coversion, when there is a lot of red involved.

Yes, I understand that Canon manufactures its own sensors, which in a way is good since Canon will not have to contend with a contentious vendor. It is all done in house.

Typically I do not have to wrestle much with the reds with my Canon gear, however this one I did.
