The Milky Way over Ausable River, NY

With my lack of planning and experience for making starscapes, I forgot to take one separate picture of the foreground without the Astrotracer enabled, hence the visible blur, but helped not getting star trails in this near 2-minute exposure. The foreground was "light-painted" with my flashlight.

The Milky Way came out terrific. The good thing is we always get to keep trying to achieve that perfect shot. That is what makes it such a great hobby

The hardest part is to keep the focus to infinity, there is a technique to achieve that in manual mode and Live view and a loupe of magnifier, after that you should check the focus from time to time to make sure it did not changed (I put some tape on the focus ring to help).
Also the best is to have the widest/fastest/sharpest lens as possible...
I love the 15mm Irix, but here the 11mm Irix (all FF lenses for K-1), would be an asset...

I have the Irix 15mm and have thought about possibly buying the 11mm. You are right for this kind of shot the Irix would be good because you can lock the focus, and I assume not worry about it.

Correct! That's one advantage of the Irix, and it can be calibrated, although it's already made before leaving the factory.
The larger FOV of the 11mm over the 15mm would be interesting too!
