Beartooth Sunset
Posted By: wtlwdwgn, 09-17-2018, 10:05 PM

I drove up the Beartooth Pass to catch a sunset and maybe some star tracing but it was too windy to use a tripod so the stars were not doable. I'm going to go back toward the end of the week and try some more. End of the week because there's a little white stuff in the forecast between now and then.

Looking West the sun set between Pilot Peak and Index Peak. K-1, A 20mm f/2.8, in-camera HDR +/- 2 EV, 1/180 @ f/11, ISO 200.

Nice sunset shot with some rich colors in the fore and middle ground. It has been many years since I was up there, so thanks for sharing this photo.

Interesting scenery - and you did good job of catching whole thing just as the sun reached the landscape.

Perfect timing by catching the sun at this angle.

Beartooth Sunset redux. Separate the in camera HDR files in SilkyPix Digital Utility and remerged them in LR CC Classic. Much cleaner and less noise.

Both are great = it comes down to personal taste - I like the original better, mainly for its "imperfections" as compared to the second one (sorry "imperfections" was the term I could come up with, but really it is not the best term).

Beautiful shot Steve!
I think I also prefer the shot in the original post.
