Problem lawn
Lens: smc PENTAX-FA 31mm F1.8AL Limited Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Bournemouth, UK ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/160s Aperture: F3.5

I came across this pile of broken lawnmowers on the lane behind a parade of businesses with flats above them in Bournemouth. It's not too difficult to construct a plausible back story, but it's an unusual sight, nonetheless. I did a few tweaks to a rather grungy Lightroom preset of my own devising to bring out some of the urban decay feel.

This comes from an industry I spent a lot of years in. The very bottom mower is what is known as a "hover mower" . It floats like a hovercraft instead of rolling on wheels.

OH WOW!! Spare Parts? I could sure use some new parts right about now. )

Nice photos of junk. There is a lot to say regards to junk, and I have no idea what.

As it happens, I used to have one - quite good for small, irregular gardens, but not if you want nice stripes, for example

The proximity to the waste bins could lead to that option closing down sometime soon

An expression of the tendency of the universe towards entropy, an expression of casual despoliation of the environment, an expression of the sadness of once bright hopes becoming tarnished and faded - a pile of junk - take your pick
