Yes it is, went down on Saturday to the Butterdome for my son's volleyball and found some time to go to Hawrelak park, Terry Fox run was the event of the day. Beautiful blue sky all day, no wind, excellent for photos.

Thanks, that lens sure produces some good images. Still getting use to it.

Today sucked. I'd like to see somebody take a truly amazing pic on a day like this. Nice pictures though. Saturday was as good as any other day.

PS Is there any nice places in St. Albert to take photos? I found a nice old wooden train overpass on Villeneuve Road heading west from Wal-Mart.

It all depends on what you are looking for. Along the river, many small parks, downtown area are a few of the interesting places. I don't look for a specific place but tend to be spontaneous. I go somewhere for other reasons, see something and take a photos, opportunities is more my style.

wife and I just moved back from Calgary ( after 10 yrs ) in May of this year. I hated Alberta for photography simply because there was nothing to shoot really. Sure, the mountains but they look / are the same everyday

Great place for astrophotography ( how I got started some 8 yrs ago ) but not much else. I'm more of a landscape / wildlife photographer and maybe that's why I feel that way. On a positive note, I always liked Edmonton much better and the downtown area was always more photogenic than Calgary imo. You've captured the city beautifully, Denis. Great work.

Thanks,

If you like nature, take a tour of Elk Island just 30 mins East of Edmonton. Beaver lake in the Spring is a rest area for migratory birds. A lot of small^places to find and explore, one has only to take the time to look.

Thanks,

you are right it is by about 1/2 stop. I am still experimenting with this lens. It was great day to play with exposure and composition. Some were handheld other with monopod. I will post more in the near future showing different subjects.

Thanks for posting these, Denis. This is a nice time of year with the fall colours and the nice morning and evening light coming at accessible times of the day.
That's a sharp lens and you obviously enjoy using it.
Looking forward to more..
