No Escape

Several years ago, we visited our older daughter when she lived in San Diego. We were surprised that she allowed her cat, named "Cutter" after a library indexing system, onto the balcony ..... and he would just stare longingly at the great outdoors out there.

Since cats do instinctively land on their springy legs, experts say they can survive a fairly long fall because their hair and low body density gives them a fairly low "terminal velocity", but fortunately they are fairly conservative and won't make a jump if they have any question at all about it.

A very nice capture of a very pretty feline. It sort of gives a new perspective on the phrase; "Don't Fence Me In." )

Thank you for your comment.

The cat in this photo was 'rescued' by her just after she finished her college work and before she started Library School {she now has MLS and LIS degrees} .... he was living in a dumpster behind the college's library where she worked. I'm guessing he remembers that life and knows he "has it good" now, in comparison.
