Aurora Borealis
Lens: Pentax 15-30 Camera: Pentax K-1 II Photo Location: Yellowknife Canada

The report was favourable for a clear night at Yellowknife and Aurora activety was forcast as high. I took a chance and hopped on a plane to go there from Calgary just for the day. Luck was on my side.

I tried time and again to get shots of these. You got em, and got them good, too. TFS

BTW, I fixed your title. I took out your extra "b".

Wonderful shots! This is still on my bucket list - I've never seen an aurora, much less tried to photograph it.

You made the most of the opportunity - great shots. Great part of the world to see them in as well.

When you finally get there, apart from the camera of course, wide angle lens, tripod, remote shutter release and warm clothes is all you need.

Taken at Yellowknife which is not the most exciting town I have ever visited I am afraid to say. But it is the Aurora capital of the world they say and the whole town lives off it it seems.

They say late autumn and winter months are the pick and Yellowknife the best place to see it. Check http://auroraforecast.com/ before you go.
