Monarchs meet Monet
Posted By: JMR, 09-23-2008, 08:22 PM

I couldn't believe my good fortune in finding this field of golden rods and asters so close to home. And it was full of monarch butterflies for good measure. So in celebration and for the joy of it, I created these two impressions.

The first one seems to have a halo around the butterfly.
The second one I like, very trippy, you can see all kinds of things in it if you look closely especially the pink sections.

Great shots. I really like your style. Any words about how you get the Monet Look? Is it an exaggeration of the Orton style?

Thanks,
Ken

Thanks. Yes, that's right, just keep playing with the light levels and the 'levels' regarding dynamic range. It is not really a true Orton style, but it the best one can do short of superimposing two separate images overlaying each other as in a sandwiched slide.
