Corporate Headshot
Lens: Pentax FA 50mm f/1.7 Camera: Pentax K-3 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F3.2
Posted By: R. Wethereyet, 10-25-2018, 09:19 AM

Here is a recent headshot that I did. I used a Pentax K-3 with a nifty 50 lens. The lighting set up was a 2x2 softbox powered by a Neewer TT660 speedlight positioned about 25 degrees off center to the model's left, a small silver reflector in front of the model, a hairlight created by another Neewer TT660 with a grid over the flash head. Background is a window overlooking the business district. All CC is appreciated.

Pretty decent portrait! My only suggestion is that the face could be a little brighter, about 0.14ev.

If you use darktable, you can also achieve the same boost by using the colour zones module for better rendition of skin tones. lift Factor 0.028, Gamma -0.088, and gain factor 0.119 achieves something similar.

Thanks - good suggestion, I will give it a try in Lightroom.

I agree with that.
With a few correction this coluld be great. Too red, too dark. The white of the eyeball (sclera) should be white, unless after a night of heavy alcohol consumption and the catchlight is too weak. Correct this and you have a pic fit for an annual report.
