Common Yellowthroat
Lens: Pentax 55-300 smc ED Camera: Pentax K-30 ISO: 100

Common Yellowthroat, photographed in the Jamaica Bay marshes. This little fellow is an incessant jumper. Manual focus, tracked him around for 25 minutes and got a few good shots.

Using manual focus on something that moves around a lot is a form of masochism - but you did eventually get this photo, and that is what matters.

In this case, Manual, because A. The lens is a bit noisy in Autofocus mode B. Patience is a virtue, and the reward can be gratifying C. Battery- I only have one. And like you said, I get the results in the end.
