Afternoon storms often leave something in their wake.

That storm was crackling and roaring as it tore the skies asunder with godly wrath over my head several hours ago. I have been in quite a few heavy, electrically active storms in my life and that one easily makes the top 3.

Cool! The bit you experienced would have swept further south perhaps through Melbourne. I'd like to see a decent thunderstorm! In northern NSW I saw a thunderhead which produced a lightning bolt which went horizontally and dissipated in the atmosphere. I saw another that looked like a globe filled with a living creature made of light. Wish I had the cameras I own now back then!
