Battle of New Orleans
Posted By: reh321, 11-04-2018, 05:26 PM

During our last afternoon in the New Orleans area, we spent an hour or two at the place where Andrew Jackson led the force that repulsed the last British invasion of the War of 1812. Historians agree that Lafitte-supplied artillery provided the "winning edge".

Accept my version came from Cherokee elders in the U.S. not from Canada.

"But Ross refused even to meet with Jackson. Instead, he turned to the U.S. Supreme Court, asking the justices to invalidate Georgia’s removal law."

Very informative. Jackson fought on one side of the Cherokee civil war. So half hated him but they can't speak.
Jackson then sided with Georgia.
The Cherokee became divided into the National and Treaty Parties. Ross was the president of the larger National Party.
Saying the Cherokee liked Jackson is like saying Americans like Trump or any politician. It's a blanket statement laced with pox.

Hey, I just go with what the elders tell me.

Maybe not all Cherokees liked Jackson, but they certainly didn't all hate him.
