This is a terrific photo! I will be staying at a resort in Oahu in a few weeks and I want to try some night shots around the pool similar to this.

Thanks, I was going to ask you about going -4 stops but figured those larger lights that hit the water were the reason. I always read reviews about how lenses don't perform very well when stopped down that far, but when I look at EXIF data from many professionals, they don't hesitate to stop down that far. Obviously your photo is evidence of the same

Aye, there will be no doubt some image performance drop off, but hey not so you'd notice, unless your pixel peeping which both clients and punters tend not to do.

You just do what you need to do... the image is everything, not the journey to get it.
