I was puzzling on the best place to go to get some fall color, then I remembered the train tracks to nowhere!

Very nice photos! I love the perspective from right down between the rails.

Are these tracks still in use? They aren't as rusty as unused tracks usually are.

The tracks were built in 2009 as a result of ARRA funding from the feds. They follow the path of the old line out to Fryeburg. Predictably, no one has chosen to restart rail service in this part of the world, so instead they just disrupted an existing rails to trails path. To add insult to injury, they put lots of "no trespassing" signs all over everything.
