Yashinon DX 35mm f/2.8
Posted By: Nesster, 09-25-2008, 02:12 PM

Some samples, this lens has wonderful bokeh I feel, and is plenty sharp enough when called for... M42, the inspection sticker alledges '75. It is lighter and faster than the Tak 35/3.5, and at least as well put together (likely made by Tomioka). At 3.5 it probably lags the Tak a bit, but it does catch up. And I feel the lens is more poetic to the prose of the Tak.

The above with a Pentax K100D

Now a couple of film photos:

Here's one that I really like... and it contains a mystery.

Notice the pavement, out of focus on purpose, comes into focus at both corners? (I cropped the image a bit to the left) Is that weird, the lens seems to have a concave field of focus!

Absolutely great series! I have the Yashinon DX 50mm f1.4, your example inspires me to try it out again! Can you post a picture of the lens?

Thanks, looks quite similar to the DX 50. I like the build quality, so solid an such precise movements!
