For a small island country Sri Lanka has an amazing number of wild animals including elephants and leopards. We took 2 half day safaris through Wilpattu National Park recently so I am sharing some photos. Hope you enjoy them!

2. This bird looks like a chicken to me but it's the national bird of Sri Lanka called a junglefowl and is endemic to Sri Lanka.

11. And the best sighting of all - a leopard - very far away but was happy we saw one. When we drove up, some poor creature was screaming its head off while the leopard stared at it.
