Neither daughter was able to come 'home' this year, so I was free to wander down to the local mall around 5:30 this evening - and saw this sight. The two guys in the dark gray jackets were handing out information about special sales. The policeman {who was probably glad to get some overtime} was wondering out-loud what kind of bargain could attract such a crowd. I was wondering how many of these people did have loved ones at home.

The last few days have had temperatures close to average (around 40 F}, but on Thanksgiving we were told that if the current trend continued, this November would be the 4th coldest November since they started keeping records 100+ years ago. I actually took a couple of photos of this scene; this one showed the fewest people and the most scenery beyond the store - I decided my 'story' had less need of lots of huddled people all wearing dark coats and hiding their faces from the weather, and more of the nature beyond them.
