There are 5 or 6 clumps of this stuff in our lawn right now. Anybody know what it is? My one and only mushroom book is not very extensive.

Damn! Wish you would've said something earlier. Have not felt too good since I had lunch.

Feeling better now. Sound is enhanced and colors more vibrant. Can't stop grinning.

Geez...I'm not sure. Reminds of the beginnings of the Blob from the Steve McQueen movie of the same name. As a result, I wouldn't touch it, stir it with a stick and certainly wouldn't try to eat it.

Whatever it is, your photo gives a good rendition for experts {and others } to study.

Thanks. Hoping to get as nice a shot with more interesting subject matter soon with my new camera. So far it's done a great job at highlighting my photographic deficiencies.

Somehow missed your post. A classic sci-fi movie. I think it was Steve McQueen's first starring role. Played a teen-ager but was almost 30 when the film was made.

Most of the pictures I've seen are past it's more slimy stage like mine. Saw one that was really slimy a couple of days ago but could not find it again. In some areas it's called Slippery Jack. And apparently edible after the slimy stage.

I find the aroma wafting out of most bakeries very pleasant. A bakery cooking this maybe not so much.
