Getting acquainted with the Irix 15mm Blackstone in the field
Lens: Irix Blackstone 15mm Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Fryslân ISO: 100 Aperture: F9
Posted By: Fries, 12-02-2018, 03:44 PM

I've been using this lens now for some time since early October. Sometimes with the 10-stop ND filter I bought with it. Here are some of the results and I hope you like it!

Cheers,

Remco

1. Yndyk, on the shores of the lake I spend a lot of time fishing and sailing when I grew up.

2. Same lake and same day. Slightly different location.

3. The sea invading the Boschplaat on the island of Terschelling.

4. Saltmarsh, Boschplaat on Terschelling.

5. The island is eroding. Terschelling.

7. Autumn forrest on the island of Vlieland.

8. The Waddensea coast of Vlieland.

Thanks Todd! There is a significant amount of vignetting though and using it too close to the ground can result in some 'smearing' of the details in the corners near the ground. But there are way's to work around that.

Thanks Al! I left the ones out that didn't work as well.

Thomas, thanks! I decided early on to use only primes for my K-1. Although, if I win the lottery... But this one is a good fit for my kind of photography.

Thanks François! These were taken in about four weeks time.

Joi, thanks! With 15mm I do have to be more careful with my compositions; the shadow of my tripod showed up in a couple of photo's...

Cheers,

Remco

These photos are making good use of UWA.

Thanks! I am slowly returning to using my normal 24mm prime again which is a healthy sign. Whit a fresh new lens on my camera the rush of the first excitement causes my photography to be a little one-sided with lots of 15mm shots. I even tried a portret!
