An Industar Christmas
Lens: Industar 61LZ 50mm f2.8 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: My home Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: Racer X 69, 12-24-2018, 12:07 PM

Some years back I saw an image made by another member here. The bokeh shapes of light were star shaped. I reached out to the guy and he told me the lens was an Industar 61LZ. So I found one, and now every year at Christmas I try to make a few images with it that follow the holiday theme.

This year I did another version of the shot with the snowman and two reindeer, and misc packages, to use on a custome made Christmas card. (there are actually 3 versions of this, the one here, and two different takes on an HDR stack.

I also went around the tree and shot a few of the ornaments. These are all single exposures, with some modest post processing in Photoshop. I used a small flashlight to illuminate the ornaments on some shots, but not all.

I really liked the way this last one turned out. It may just be next year's Christmas card image.

So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Racer to everyone at PentaxForums!

Great use of the Industar-61L/Z's diaphragm shape, Racer. Lovely seasonal photos taken with an awesome Soviet lens... what's not to like?

Would agree these are sharp, colourful images with a striking bokeh particularly from the lights. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas.
