Great images. I like those storm shots. It is 35 years since I was there. It is something I had to see while I was in the US because it is such amazing scenery. I think I have a shot of the same (?) sweat lodge in my prints somewhere. Even if someone had never been to Monument valley, the scenery is instantly recognizable because of the exposure it has had through the movies. It makes you want to talk like John Wayne.

Nice captures of the desolate beauty of this land.

Great pics and thanks for sharing! My wife and I spent a day there (wish it was longer) back in August 2018. I love that area.

Thanks for commenting. Good to hear you knew to visit - so many visitors only see cities when they visit the US. I lived in a nearby state for years but never made it there so this was my first time, and I had to drive about 1,000 miles to get there.

Since we were there over Christmas, we spent 4 nights and I'm really glad we did. I could have stayed longer. Thanks for commenting!

Thanks - I was running to get the hogan in a good position in the foreground before the clouds changed. :-)

Very nice, what an amazing place! The close encounters movie doesn't do it justice.

Thanks for commenting. Just to clarify - Close Encounters was filmed at Devils Tower in Wyoming, not Monument Valley, which is in Utah/Arizona. I've been to Devils Tower too - it's massive.

If anyone is interested, this is a good video about Monument Valley and the movies:

You should. I would really like to see the photos you would take there.
