The Great Orion Nebula - 190 Minutes
Posted By: Colorado CJ, 01-07-2019, 05:27 PM

I took this last night with my Stellarvue SV80 Access and Nikon D600. This is 31 frames at 300 seconds, 20 frames at 60 seconds and 30 frames at 30 seconds.

I am not real happy with it, but it is better than my last photo of Orion. Can't seem to get the colors just right and the trap isn't as defined as I'd like.

Another nice shot. Very good detail in the surrounding gas cloud. Self-criticism is always a bit harsh!

Stellar indeed and even more interesting when one knows what happens here... Stellar nursery where stars are born.

This is a very nice shot! What don't you like about it?
On closer inspection I can see a fairly high amount of color noise but given the number of images stacked here I'm surprised that there is any noise at all! It looks very sharp!

Nice! I think the colours are great. You even managed to bring out the brown dust clouds.

I think it's a wonderful image. You should look at the sort of photos amateurs considered good back in the film days.
