My limited: Smc Pentax m/a/f/fa 50mm f1.7!!!
Lens: Smc Pentax f 50mm f1.7
Posted By: zburatoru, 01-27-2019, 07:18 AM

Hello! I just love this lens from the moment when I've started to use the first prime. From the m version to a and f, this lens makes my day! It's little just like a limited, it's sharp like a limited, it's got style and feeling of a limited lens but for a fraction of a price. Every picture I have taken with this lens made me smile! So, if you are feeling like me let's show what this lens can do! Let's post some pictures!

I really like your photos with this lens! I have had the A version since I got it with a Super Program in the '80's but it never got used until recently. I tried some flowers and fell in love with it on my K-3II. I am actually thinking of buying an A50 f1.4 as well just for fun and see how it does.

Hello! Well, I think that this lens it's the best tool for flowers and Christmas lights: smooth bokeh but well definied... I have the 55mm sdm too but I like the rendering of this lens better! I think that f1.7 it's more than enough for bokeh photography...

This is Belle posing at Champions Park. Be patient and a dog will pose themselves. I hang out with a writer and animal rights activist and her Tara Bassett and Puppy Pack Adventures podcast. I photograph her dogs for her social media platforms and the animal rights fund raiser events she emcees and whoever else we cross trails with at the dog parks. Her social activism for the homeless, animal rights and rescues, the mentally ill and military veteran affairs gives purpose (and exposure) to my hobby. BTW, I do not own a dog

I inherited some Pentax gear when my Dad died in 2005. Including an SMC F 50mm f1.7 used above. Thatís how I started down the Pentaxian path to an over abundance of gear. I also have a DA* 55mm f1.4.

Very good portrait! I'm gonna ask you: Which you consider better, 50mm or 55mm?

Although I inherited the F50mm f1.7 in 2005, I didn’t get back into photography and Pentax in particular until much later than that. I may not have fully appreciated it until I started coming to these forums. Thus I go to the 55 more often because it’s a DA* and it’s quieter but I have not shot enough with both lenses to directly compare. I have a couple other dog pictures in my album that I shot with the 55 around the same time of day. I dont want to derail this thread by posting pictures that do not meet your theme.

PS: Your photos are wonderful. Makes me want to take out my F 50 more often.
