Originally posted by RoxnDox There are a lot of old buildings like this one in eastern Washington (dry summers, harsh winters, primarily a wheat-growing region). It appears to be a grain elevator, designed back in the days of hauling grain by wagons or truck, and probably included some hay storage and possibly livestock stalls on the sides. At some point the farmer quit using it, and the roof collapsed gradually under the weight of snow and such. It's likely been decaying since the 1940s or thereabouts.
They can be very photogenic, also a source of some really cool old wood for salvage
Great shot!
Used to be very common North of you too, all across the prairies, though they are becoming rare now, sadly
