Thank you. It does look like a stand off. FYI I've been told recently by a wildlife biologist that a bee sting can kill a hummingbird.

Thank you. I recently retired and am spending all of my spare time out photographing, so that probably has a lot to do with my luck.

FYI I've been told recently by a wildlife biologist that a bee sting can kill a hummingbird.

That is not surprising considering their small size. I have several Anna's Hummingbirds in my yard, and they seem to show no fear of bees and are right there with the bees when feeding in my Camellias. However, worker bees tend not to be all that aggressive.

A senior professor I formerly worked with observed "The harder students study, the luckier they are on exams".
I would make the same observation about preparation and work leading to luck like this on photographs.

Thanks. It was shock. I knew the bee was there, but had no idea it would bee (Ha!) in focus.
