Some photos of the wildfowl wetland trust property in Northern Ireland. Taken last autumn.

Nice shots. I was intrigued to see the Mandarin Duck in Northern Ireland. They have been introduced at various places in Europe which will probably assist in their survival as they are under threat in their natural habitat. They are a beautiful bird. It is very much like the Carolina Duck which is not surprising. I guess they went from Asia to North America during a past period of global warming. (Sorry for rambling on. I am not a birder but I have strong environmental interests).

There's four or five pairs there at the moment and the same in wood ducks I think. I couldn't believe how small they are! There was also a very special albino one there. A wee girly one.
