Spring is just around the corner!

LOL, Great capture, Dewey, judging from that snow in the background looks like spring is not only just around the corner but its down the road a piece too! Man am I glad I live in the South...... well except for tomorrow and Wednesday it was 71 here today and Wednesday is forecast to be 17.

Where I live.... in the "flatland," it seldom get's below 5 or 6 below zero, but I lived up in the mountains, north of Boise and I've seen it 30 below zero. That, my friends, is COLD! And, add 16 feet of snow on top of that and you have a really miserable winter, especially if you have to plow your own road that has 5 switchbacks on it!

I'm not sure how low the coldest temperature might be that I've experienced (especially depending on whether you account for wind chill), but certainly not close to -30F. The coldest still air temperature recorded in Australia was -22C (-9F) certainly not -34C (-30F). Having to keep your own road clear would be awful, especially with such a huge amount of snow. There's a road in Japan where they use GPS guided snowploughs on in early spring. The road on Tateyama sometimes needs to have a channel 20 metres deep cut through the snow.
Anyway you have my sympathy dealing with such low temperatures - we usually have the opposite problem in summer with temps over 40C.
