Dusty Dusk
Lens: HD D FA 140-450ED DC AW Camera: KP Photo Location: Yuma Arizona, USA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/1000s Aperture: F8
Posted By: AZGMDale, 03-02-2019, 08:22 PM

This is a spot I like when it"s windy, because the dust accentuates the layers at sunset. Setting sun to the upper left, just out of frame. Hand held the KP, and focal length set at 450mm. Cropped to 16:9 only.

A great shot. The colours really layer nicely.

Spectacular shot! From looking at this and other of your photos, you really take advantage of the opportunities in your area.

Thanks, Todd.

Yes, this part of the Sonoran Desert is sparsely vegetated compared the other parts, so I really have to search for interesting shots. Thankfully, we have the Colorado River , so that helps.

Thanks. The dust really does a good job of hiding the details in the mountains/hills, which I think is what gives it that painterly look.

Thanks. I needed all of the 450mm with the KP to isolate those ridges/hills. My K1 on that lens would not have isolated as well I'm thinking.
