Death Valley Sand Dunes, California
Lens: DA 55-300 mm f/4.5 Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Death Valley, CA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F10

Nice evening light at the end of a 125 degrees F day. Pentax K5 and DA 55-300 mm f/4-5.8 lens @ 230 mm focal length.

Really nice photo Richard! I really like the angle of the sun to the dunes and the contrast it produced. It also has a lot of depth that draws the eye from foreground across the dunes.

@Swanlefitte ... Water is very scarce in Death Valley, except for a site called "Badwater" (brackish pool) further South. If ever there was water over these dunes, dinosaurs must have been wallowing in it ... lol!

NIce photo.

The lake would not be that close to these particular sand dunes, assuming these are the ones that are quite a bit north of Badwater. It would sure be fun to go check it out.
