Winter is lossening its grip on South Georgia and with the return of fairer weather , I visited the
Grand Bay Wildlife Management Area , a sizeable local nature preserve. Most of the WMA is composed of Carolina Bay Swamp, that is a kind of swam composed mostly of Bald Cypress Trees, along with a variety of other hardwoods. Spring through late Autumn this environment is very active with a large variety on insects, though this trip few had reemerged from their winter dormancy.
