Badwater, Death Valley Nat'l Park, California.
Lens: 8,8 - 220,0 mm Camera: Canon G3X compact Photo Location: Death Valley, CA Shutter Speed: 1/2000s Aperture: F5.6

Badwater, the lowest point on the North American Continent @ 282 feet below Sea Level, in Death Valley Nat'l Park, California. This day, temperature was 125 deg F. The next day I slept in Yosemite Nat'l Park up in the Sierra Nevada and it was freezing at 6h00 in the morning. Quite a contrast!

It has people to provide life and scale, and the colors are fascinating.

THX !

Death Valley National Park has a plethora of natural features worth exploring. You can easily spend a whole week there and you won't have seen all there is to see.

Regards

At my age and with my poor health condition, I will probably never return to Death Valley. But I cherish those images I made a few years ago ...

I love this. The different layers of color make it so interesting. Nicely composed as well, and the people give a nice sense of scale.

And it was taken with a Canon G3X compact, an excellent camera in itself. Colors are a little less warm than Pentax optics but sharpness is very high.
