Sun Rise in the Dominican
Photo Location: Dominican Republic
Posted By: Photobill, 03-28-2019, 11:38 PM

Just started looking at photos from a recent vacation (November 30, 2018) I always let my vacation photos age like fine wine. Then when I look at them I always feel like "DAMB THAT'S NOT HALF BAD"
This is straight out of camera (Down sized to transfer to tablet from camera). I'll update the metadata when I get a chance to look it up on my CP.

Love to hear your opinions, I'm going to get a print on acrylic so any suggestions on the final crop 🔪?????

Great sunset with the low clouds! I'd suggest cropping from the top down, to eliminate the darkest clouds at top, but keeping the sun in the center and keeping the same aspect ratio. That would eliminate some of the dead area at top while also enlarging the sun and low clouds, which are really the focus of this image.

Thanks for your input GeoJerry
I most defiantly agree to crop out the top. I'm also thinking to make it male it more of a wide format. What do you think?

I think I'd lean more towards cropping a bit off each side now, to preserve the original aspect ratio, because I'd want to put more emphasis on the low clouds in the center. They're a lot more interesting than the low clouds on the right and left. I wouldn't want to take too much off the bottom because I like the horizon to be about 1/3 from the bottom, as it is now.

But having said all that, a wide format would also look cool, it just comes down to personal preference!
