Sigma Prime
Posted By: 7.62lew, 10-03-2008, 11:39 PM

Hi.
Flickr: 7.62lew's Photostream

Taken with a Pentax K100D Super and manual focus Sigma 24mm Mini-wide II. I haven't really used the sigma a lot since I got it. I have been spoiled by the DA 16-45mm, but the Sigma is a very good lens also and it is so small compared to the 16-45. Plus a manual focus prime makes you work a little more

Should I have sized these down a little for posting (instead of 1024 x 681)? It almost looks a little crowded on the forum, at least in my 17" monitor is does.

Let me know what you think.

Have a good one.

Yes that lens does take nice shots, I like the way it handled the OOF foreground flowers in the first set. I don't like the way it rendered the out of focus trees in the background in #2 and #4.
The second set shows sharpness.

Boy does 2.8 look like a deep DOF after shooting at 1.4 for a couple of weeks.

maybe related to a leica

I have that lens too. Read somewhere a long time ago, sorry no link, that sigma at the time was manufacturing that lens for leica and selling it under its own name. Both lens had identical ratings on one of the lens sites. Wish I could remember more but I am middle aged.

Obviously, do not believe everything some crackpot posts on the web. Look what happened to Jobs/ Apple stock this week.

Hi 7.62lew

very nice set of photos! I am very interested in this lens myself. If I don't have my M28/3.5 or if the Sigma were a little faster (like f2.0 since I got FA28/2.8), I would definitely pick one up myself.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for all the responses

And the lens is a 24MM Super Wide II(Exactly like the one that just sold on the marketplace)not mini wide II as I stated in the original post(typo on my part) . I had a sigma mini-wide II 28 mm that I gave to a friend at work.

Have a good one.
