A candle on my table. I never realised that the colours and bruised pattern looks so lovely on that candle.

Background is not photoshopped away, it's the way it was.

really nice. It's always the small, simple things right under your nose...

Very nice indeed! Lines, curves, pattern and textures - nice! Dark background perfectly isolates the subject. Nicely done!

(off topic) - All images in you Flicker gallery with 17-70 Sigma?

Regards,
D

Dark background, simple colours - I like this! By the way, the candle holder has a glow to it. Was it lit by something else behind or beside it? Or was it just the candle?

Thanks.

@Duh_Vinci
Recent ones, yes, taken with Sigma 17-70. Earlier than that train pic (summer & misc) with kit and some with other cams too.

@Alvin
No, just the candle. There were two bulbs in the room but they were very weak and further away. If you look closely then there's a brighter spot on swan's forehead, that may possibly be one bulb. But there were no direct lights pointing on the swan or behind it. Just that single flame. I guess it's just the way that glass illuminates, it's noticeably thinner on edges and thicker in the middle.
