An Attraction to Blue
Lens: Pentax A 70-210mm f4 Camera: Pentax K-3II Photo Location: Healdsburg, CA ISO: 1250 Shutter Speed: 1/640s Aperture: F7.1

I was in Healdsburg last week and was photographing these beautiful flowers, Echium. The bees were very attracted to them.

Excellent result with that lens ToddK...colour, detail, bokeh & framing all good.

Thank you for the comment photomax7! I have been pleasantly surprised with the A70-210 results, and it is just a fun lens to use.

Thanks for the great comment Jerry! I think it is a compliment to my old Pentax A70-210mm lens. I have only recently started using it again, and it has impressed me when I use it in the right conditions.

Yes a great shot, but don't you know that lens has hopeless auto focus and only expensive modern lenses can get pictures like that? But seriously, that is a fantastic lens (I have one as well) and you have used it very well.

Someone called this a "great shot" - no: it is an astonishing shot!!

Image quality - pin sharp; colour - a perfect example of where less is so much more. Depth of field just perfect for the image.

Fascinated that a 70-210 zoom could be used for such a macro type of shot, especially without extension tubes or similar.

I am seething with jealousy!!
