Notre Dame - 2016

Taken in August of 2016. So sad to see this happen, but it is encouraging to hear that they are committed to re-building it. Let's hope that they can get it done. Even with the walls intact, it will take a boatload of money to get it re-built.

Very nice picture ! I heard it would cost billions of dollars and at least 10 years to bring it back to life.

Thanks Richard. I would not be surprised with the estimate. Now that the roof structure is gone, they will need to structurally reinforce the walls and bell towers prior to building a new roof system. Also unfortunately the building is wide open to the weather so pretty much everything inside that wasn't already fire and smoke damaged will have to be removed. Essentially is like starting with a stone skeleton.
