I thought I'd share some more of my recent crystal images.
Over the past few weeks I've been playing around with photographing asorbic and citric acid crystals, as well as Epsom salt crystals.
I've been trying out various lenses on my bellows, as well as reverse mounted on another lens.
I'm using a LED bulb for illumination, and two linear polarizers above and below the crystals. I've also added the clear top off a CD case as a 'retardation plate' (I think that's the correct expression) into the light path which intensifies the colours even more.
Here are a couple from this morning using a Componon-S 50mm F2.8 enlarger lens reverse mounted on a Pentax-M 200mm F4.
Here's some using a noname 10X microscope objective on the bellows.
These were with an Amscope 4X microscope objective on the bellows
I'm looking forward to trying out this technique with snowflakes next winter - but I'll be very happy to enjoy some summer warmth before then
Hope you like them.
