I like this photograph very much. So bright, crisp and clear. The settings are to be remembered. Very nice work.

ID on bird, just so you know, if you didn't Jer:

Yellow-crowned Night-Heron

You need a bird book, sir. and on advice from members here, I picked up this one from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Sibley-Guide-Birds-2nd/dp/030795790X/ref=sr_1_2?crid=...s%2C174&sr=1-2

It is alway's hard to attribute human emotions to animals but you nailed this. Wonderful!

Thanks Todd! Our moderator, bless her heart, did the research (see photolady95's reply below) and found that this one is yellow-crowned night heron.

Thanks, Mar, for going to the trouble of searching this out and - you're right - my ornithological knowledge is slim; I do need a bird book. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nor had I - the other herons I photographed at this location were bigger and probably blue herons.

Hey Old Buddy!!!! I'm glad you like the pic. I hope you and yours are doing well. I remember that after you retired you went "all in" to photography - are you still at it?

Still working. One more year though I am still pushing hard on my photography. Having way too much fun. I do still like to come back to the old Pentax site and check up on my old friends. Cheers and stay in touch. JIMBO

Somehow I thought you'd retired already. No matter, it's great to hear from you. We sure had a time back in the early days of the Forum. Keep me posted!
