Bad Table Manners . . . . . .
Lens: DA*300/4 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Texas Sea Center ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/750s Aperture: F8

. . . . . but good eatin'. I was shooting into the sun on this one, so there was no way to get the light in the "right" place. I offered this bird real money to fly to another spot in which she/he would be fully illuminated by old sol, but . . . . . . . . . nothin' doin'. These herons just dance to their own drummers.

Resistance would appear to be futile. Good catch (both you and the heron).

I see nothing wrong with the light. I see a great subject matter, with an unusual meal.

I am not so sure the bird could handle a crawdad this big, did it?

I like this composition Sailor...the crisp grass & heron leading onto the blurred background places everything nicely in context...great image.

What kind words - thank you. I never actually saw him/her swallow the thing, but he looked pretty hungry to me.

You'd be surprised how big a fish or crawdad those birds can swallow..

Nice catch Jer. It's hard sometimes to find one actually eating something.
