Anenomes at the Monterey Bay Aquarium
Posted By: xs400, 10-06-2008, 09:35 AM

Here are a few more shots from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. These are some of the anenomes they have on display. There wasn't much light for these shots, exposures were 1/6 to 1/2 sec. I held my K100D + DA 16-45mm steady by pressing the lens right up onto the glass of the aquarium.

Wonderful, well captured. Like Gawn, I too am impressed at how you managed to get such a great shot through the glass. Nice colours.

Very well done Frank. I'm impressed you were able to pull these off handheld. Very nice indeed!

Wow, look at those colors, excellent! Trying to remember the saying...."the anemone
of my anemone is my friend" or something like that.

Thanks for sharing!

I had the lens pressed up tight on the glass. This allowed for no reflections and I could hold the camera steady for those long exposures.

Shooting through glass is one of the things I am working on myself. Did you use AF or manual? Also with or without lens hood? By the way, the shots are great.

I used autofocus without the lens hood.
