Thank you. Last year I was fortunate to have the K-1 II loaned to me for birds in flight testing. I also own a K-5 and a K-3 II, and definitely approach birds in flight photography as a contrarian (pentaxian). I wouldve love to test the KP, but it didnt happen. I say all that to say this - from my 4 years of experience capturing birds in flight in this manner, at least two camera features make this capture process more efficient.

Tilt screen and frames per second. I have an extremely harder time trying to capture these types of shots with my K-5 and K-3 II mainly because of no tilt screen. Although the KP and K70 probably have great resolution, the fps needs to be at least 10 fps. The faster the camera, the more oppurtunities to snag an image, especially in close as I am (10 to 20 feet). Doesnt matter how much image quality a camera has if its "too slow" - you'll have a superbly exposed/rendered image with no bird in it.
