Swimmer Up.
Lens: SIgma 100-300 4.0 DG @300mm Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Oregon Coast ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/1250s Aperture: F8

This swimmer and ski had just finished rescuing two surfers who were caught in a rip and had traveled over a mile from the beach they were on. Kind of bummed the file size is limited to 1280.

Annnnd I can't keep the third one from being downscaled horribly even though it's within parameters. And the quality of these two isn't anywhere near as sharp as the jpegs out of Lightroom. Oh well.

They look pretty sharp to me! Great shots at that distance.

Very well captured and we now know that 1/1250s is the correct speed to stop a helicopters rotors in action.

Thanks! Funny you mention that. I tried slowing the shutter speed to get some rotor blur but at that range with the heavy 100-300 F4 it just wasn't happening

Very nice shots, it's cool how can see the hot exhaust coming out of the helicopter.
