I haven't seen these before but after reading about them I see they do live in Colorado.

Very nice photo with really good poses by the birds! I always find them very skittish when I have tried to photograph them in my area. The only real success that I had was many years ago in Oregon where I was able to get some photos of them in flight.

Nicely captured. They always remind me of velvet. Something about the texture of their feathers.
