Flight Formation
Lens: Pentax DA 16-85mm Camera: K-3II Photo Location: Santa Barbara, CA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/1000s Aperture: F6.3

I can watch Pelicans in flight all day, they fly in unison and a very graceful fliers. This photo reminded me of photos of planes from WWII so I thought B&W was the way to go.

Nice shot and I agree about watching pelicans.

I'm with you. When I lived in Panama I used to see huge flocks of pelicans (like 40 birds). When I visit Florida I see lots of them but not in such great concentrations. Endlessly entertaining to watch as they're such graceful fliers but it's such an ungainly looking splat when they hit the water for fish...

Whoa!! What a wonderful photograph. Looks as though they are coming in for an aerial bombardment. Wouldn't care to get hit by one those bombs. ) Thanks for sharing.
