Interstate-70, a marvel of engineering crossing the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
Lens: 8,8 - 220,0 mm Camera: Canon G3X compact Photo Location: I-70, Colorado. Shutter Speed: 1/80s Aperture: F5.6

I had the opportunity to stop for a short period on this stretch of Interstate-70 in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado so I could take this picture. What a feat of road engineering this is, a highway built along and over a river in a winding canyon. Picture taken with a Canon G3X. Notice the slow shutter speed, this is due to the presence of a built-in Neutral Density filter that blocks part of the incoming light.

We travelled that road last summer pulling a 38' RV so we couldn't stop anywhere. It is one of the most gorgeous highways in the US. Seems like I heard they had to close part of it due to an avalanche last winter.

Looks like Hwy 1 through Banf, without the avalanche sheds.

Interstate-70 is amazing, permitting travel through the highest summits of the Rocky Mountains. Very beautiful, indeed.
