This is one of the few homes in Brandon ,MS that was not burned to the ground by Gen W.T. Sherman's troops in their 'Scorched Earth" march to Atlanta during the Civil War.

Thanks, Tony, I really appreciate your comment! That house is archived in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in a place called the Pearl Street Historic District along with two more Civil War era homes close by.

Thanks, RE, I appreciate the comment! I thought about posting the scene in color but I thought the Film Pack5 film emulation worked pretty well for that Traditional scene look.

Very nice image and B&W was a good choice to give it a period look. Matthew Brady might have taken it!

It has a grand porch with rocking chairs to sit out on at night... providing you don't getting eaten alive by insects.
