Hi Kevin.
On this particular series I did not have to use any ND filters. Conditions were partly sunny with plenty of extended periods of overcast. I shot during the overcast periods. Additionally, the canopy was so dense that little light was reaching the forest floor. I used a Kase magnetic polarizer on a case filter holder as my only filter. I think that is roughly equal to a stop or slightly more. That sufficed to produce images at f22 for most of these images for exposure of 2 to 6 seconds.
In the last two images I upped the iso to 400 to cut the shutter speed to 1 sec at f22.
I recently bought Kase Wolverine 100mm 6 and 10 stops NDs but had no need to use them in these dark and serene ravines.
