Here are few images taken last week. I cropped them for screen saver format for my monitor ( except for the final image) and then sized them as GIF for the forum. I really enjoy the fairly arduous hike through the two ravines and especially during the middle of the week when you rarely come across anyone.

Shot with 645z with DFA 28-45, Kase magnetic polarizer on Kase filter holder.

Nice shots. What ND filters were you using?

Hi Kevin.

On this particular series I did not have to use any ND filters. Conditions were partly sunny with plenty of extended periods of overcast. I shot during the overcast periods. Additionally, the canopy was so dense that little light was reaching the forest floor. I used a Kase magnetic polarizer on a case filter holder as my only filter. I think that is roughly equal to a stop or slightly more. That sufficed to produce images at f22 for most of these images for exposure of 2 to 6 seconds.

In the last two images I upped the iso to 400 to cut the shutter speed to 1 sec at f22.

I recently bought Kase Wolverine 100mm 6 and 10 stops NDs but had no need to use them in these dark and serene ravines.

Thank you for your comments. They are much appreciated.

Stephen
