Tractor Pull
Lens: Pentax DA 18-135 Camera: Pentax KP Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F4.5

Many years ago - over fifty - my Dad took me to a Fair where we saw a "horse pull". Last evening my wife and I saw the modern analog at the County Fair - modified tractors pulling a specialized 'sled'; the 'sled' {every thing between U.S. flag and yellow flag} is designed to increase effective drag as it goes down the track, so none of the tractors reached the end of the dirt track.

I was mildly amused that the family sitting behind us was obvious Amish, much more 'at home' at a traditional "horse pull".

Thank you for your comment.

I took only my KP and 18-135 lens. In retrospect, that was a suboptimal choice; I tried to take a burst of each tractor - sometimes the burst was 4 shots, but sometimes just 1 between the two fence poles. I believe the camera was having trouble deciding whether to focus on the fence or on the tractor. Since 31mm turned out to be a convenient focal length, if we ever go again, I'll probably take my Pentax-M 28mm f/2.8 and try to focus on the track before the runs start, which might allow me to focus better on the tractors and fuzz the fence a tad.
