I really wish I could fix typos in subject lines.

If you select "Edit Message" - then go to the end of the new screen and select "Edit Message" again - you should reach a screen that allows you to edit the subject line. However, my experience is that the fix may not be reflected in the page listing "PYP!" contents, so it may not be worth doing.

Thanks Jer! The Honeyeater was fluffed up while sitting around, which makes him look fatter than he is.
The DA 55-300 makes a great travel lens. At that time I carried the DA 55-300 and DA 16-45 as a travel kit.

Thanks! I think there may be two versions of the DA 55-300; one with a red band and one with a green band. There may be differences in optical or build quality (I think one has a metal base and one is plastic?) or I may have a good copy. At the moment I use the DA 55-300 PLM which is more convenient as a travel lens, focusses faster and seems sharper than the older version. This photo would have been sharper if I took it today using the K3 rather than the K7 I had at the time.

Thanks! It looks like you have to edit in "advanced" mode.

Thanks Tony! They look cute when they fluff themselves up like that.

Beautiful detail and lovely blurred background Rob...in the past I had the Da L version to accompany my Da*16-50mm for travel...it rarely disappointed.

Thanks! Right, you had the DA-L (silver band) while mine is the DA (green band). Then there's the HD version with the red band, and the one I use now which is the PLM! I miss the clarity of the DFA 150-450 when I'm travelling, but of course I don't miss the weight!

We're very fortunate with the number of species in Australia! There's over 200 species identified around Lamington National park, although sadly I don't live near there anymore. I've identified 68 species in one tiny reserve near where I work here in Canberra. I think there's about 828 species in Australia, and I've only identified 270, so I have a long way to go! I'm not a mad-keen birder like some. I'm more interested in photographing things than counting them.

Australia has some of the most ancient bird species in the world, like the Lyrebird and the Scrub-bird. The current understanding is that songbirds originated in Australia and spread out from here. I wish the ebird database existed when I was a kid, or I'd have more species recorded.
