Nice looking Mustang. I've never had one, although I came close to buying one years ago...and then in the 2000's starting thinking about getting another one. Both of these Mustangs appealed to me because of the movie 'Bullit'.
In the late '60's I almost bought a used '67 Mustang fastback...4 speed manual...Ford Toploader...289 4 barrel...225 hp engine, not the more desirable 271 HP K Code, but still an ok engine although a bit on the small side for a V8. The guy who was selling it back then had done some nice custom touches. It was the dark Forest Green in colour, had the 'Mustang' removed from the grille...it was just plain black (grille)....American Mag wheels and a couple size...over size...black wall tires. Also had some exhaust work...duals..performance mufflers...sounded nice..especially running it through the gears and giving it the odd blip between shifts. So why didn't I buy this 'Bullitized' '67 Fastback ? Mostly because I was a Chevy guy and wanted a '67 Camaro RS coupe...327 V8, Muncie 4 speed, dog dish hub caps with beauty rings on the wheels...also redline tires. I bought the Chevy BTW.
So fast forward about 35 years or so. Ford brought out...around 2005 I think... the new Mustang Bullit model...fastback, manual transmission, 4.6 liter SOHC V8 (315 hp ?)..dark forest green, etc.
It looked real good. But our kids were still at home, wife doesn't like shifting a manual...and our vehicle already had a 4 speed automatic, 4.3 liter engine...locking rear axle, HD suspension...2 sizes oversize tires, etc. and we were happy with it. It was a mid size, rear wheel drive Chevy van.
As either Steve McQueen or maybe it was Clint Eastwood that said in an old movie...' ...a good man...has to know his limitations *..'...and I know mine.
* I like this movie phrase, I know I use it a lot. .
